Production manager/production supervisor

Svendborg Ballet Theatre is looking for an artistic director/production manager who can keep track of rehearsal schedules, production, and touring logistics — and who makes the performances land exactly, night after night.

You will become the practical focal point between artistic direction, producers, dancers, and technicians.

About Svendborg Ballet Theatre

Svendborg BalletTeater creates ballet performances of a high international standard. We are based in Svendborg and tour both domestically and internationally, and we are a small organization where you get close to the entire production.

About the position

The position can be approached from two sides. If you are a production manager and ready for more responsibility, you will have an important role in planning the entire production process here. If you come from production management or an assistant role, you will, in return, be closer to the artistic execution on stage.

You ensure coherence between artistic intent, technical execution and logistical arrangements in all production processes, and you assist the producer in planning productions and tours.

You work closely with the producer and artistic leadership, dancers, technicians, and external partners.

Your tasks

  • Management of rehearsals and general rehearsals, as well as responsibility for the staging and scenic coordination
  • Preparation and maintenance of cue sheets and execution documentation
  • Development of production plans, trial plans and execution plans in collaboration with the manufacturer
  • Coordinating artistic, technical, and administrative resources
  • Planning national and international tours together with the producer
  • Logistical management of transport and schedules, as well as contact with theaters, institutions, and suppliers

Your profile

We imagine that you have experience in production management or production leadership within the performing arts, and that you are interested in taking the lead in specific parts of the production process—for example, the rehearsal process on stage, the running of the production, or a tour. You thrive on independently taking responsibility for your own areas close to the producer. The experience can be built up as an assistant.

  • Lack of planning, structure and detail
  • Experience with project management and logistical coordination
  • Strong communication skills and a flair for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Overview and decision-making power, even when there is pressure
  • Knowledge of technical execution, cue sheets and rehearsal planning
  • Danish and English at working level, driver's license and a desire to travel on tour

We offer

  • But full-time employment in an ambitious ballet company with real influence over the organization of productions
  • Work on both new productions and tours in Denmark and abroad
  • Salary based on qualifications
  • Workplace in Svendborg where evening and weekend work as well as travel activity follow the productions

Application

  • Application deadline: 12.10.2026
  • Conversations Week 43/44
  • Admission 01.12.2026
